Scott Mitchell serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HAPO Community Credit Union, a position he assumed in August 2024 after a distinguished 19-year tenure with the organization. Throughout his career at HAPO, Mitchell has held various senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Lending Officer (CLO), and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). He has extensive experience and a deep understanding of the credit union's finances, operations, culture, and strategic vision.
Under Mitchell's leadership, HAPO Community Credit Union will be expanding its services through the acquisition of Community First Bank, headquartered in Kennewick, WA, enhancing the organization's financial offerings and community engagement. This strategic move reflects his commitment to sustainable growth and delivering value to members.
Scott is a native to the Tri Cities area and believes in volunteerism and making a meaningful impact in people’s lives. He has served on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties, Second Harvest, The Children’s Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia, and several other organizations.
