William Tanner

Vice Chairman, Audit Committee Member

Mr. Tanner has been a member of HAPO since 1979. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2000. He was Board Chairman from 2012-2022. 

Mr. Tanner is a retired Sergeant from the Richland Police Department where he served for 28 years. He was trained as a precision rifle man and served on the Tri-Cities Swat team for 17 years. He had various positions with the City of Richland including teaching and training at the state level, which included SWAT.  He was tasked with conductive extensive background/interviews for police and fire and dispatch. After retiring he started a consulting business where he performed employment backgrounds and internal investigations, primarily for cities and counties.
